What data do we collect?
We don't collect much information. We ask for your email address when you register to the website, which serves the functions of: verifying the registration is authentic, and one way of uniquely identifying and differentiating between users.
We also ask you to create a password to use with the website. While this password is not required or expected to be the same as other passwords used elsewhere, we take extra steps to ensure all passwords are protected to a high degree of security.
How is this kept secure?
Direct database access is limited to the website operator(s) and software. All other users and staff may only interface with the database through indirect website interfaces, designed in such a way that information should not be able to be accessed without granted permission.
Passwords are stored as salted hashes; that is, they are encoded in such a way that it cannot be retrieved or reversed. This encoding happens multiple times using the bcrypt algorithm, which means that in the event of a data breach, passwords cannot be retrieved.
We don't give out any personally identifiable information to any third parties. However, the website may contain third-party links to websites which are not affiliated with us (Space Beaver Studios) or the developer(s) of the website (Elttob). These third parties have their own privacy policies which they adhere to, and therefore we cannot be held responsible or liable for these linked websites and their contents and/or activities.
